Safeguarding Statement

At the Derby Medical Centre, we are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We have a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of abuse and neglect, and we strive to provide a safe, supportive environment for all patients, staff, and visitors.

Our safeguarding policies and procedures are designed to ensure that everyone at our practice understands their responsibilities and takes appropriate action to protect individuals from harm. All members of our team receive regular safeguarding training and are equipped to recognise signs of abuse, respond appropriately to concerns, and follow clear internal reporting processes.

We work in close collaboration with local safeguarding partners, including social services, health professionals, and law enforcement, to ensure that concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. Where appropriate, and in line with relevant legal frameworks, we may share information with other agencies to protect individuals while always respecting patient confidentiality, privacy, and consent where possible.

We actively encourage anyone; patients, carers, staff, or visitors to raise concerns or suspicions of abuse. Every concern is taken seriously and handled in a professional, compassionate, and confidential manner.
